Q: I have the Apple Romote Desktop in my MacBook, but I cannot find where it is located. Can someone please tell me where I can  find it.

I believe sombody placed it in my computer, and probably changed the name of the application. Thus I cannot find it in the spotlight. Is there any other way to find this application and delete it?

There are two applications for ARD. (ARD = Apple Remote Desktop) There is ARD and ARD Agent.

ARD is an application to connect to a computer and remotely manage a mac. Having it on your computer dosen't mean some one can connect to a computer. It means you can connect to other computers; assuming those computers have been configured to allow you to connect to them.

ARD Agent is part of the mac operating system. It's built-in, and it's controlled through System Preferences, Sharing, Remote Management. If it's enabled Remote Management will be checked. Any time some one connects to a computer using ARD, it's logged in the security log. This log can be viewed using the console application; the Console application can be found in the Applications, Utilities folder.

Because ARD Agent is part of the operating system, Even if your not using it, from time to time Software Update may offer an update for ARD Agent. Even if your not using Apple Remote Desktop, it's a good idea to install those updates; because other udpates that may benifit you may not be offered until you install all the updates currently being offered to you in Software Update.
