Looks like no one’s replied in a while. To start the conversation again, simply ask a new question.

Bought iPad2 with wi-fi with understanding I could download nearly 10 movies, but, after a few apps and three movies/TV show, ran out of storage space. Trying to change movie from HD to standard, but, cannot figure it out.

Addendum to the question above; I tried to use the setting to delete some apps to increase the existing storage, and I bought extra 10GB, which ended up in iCloud. Bottum line is that I purchaced this iPad to entertain my 2 yr old grandson while we fly to Japan from California, therefore I need to access data/apps/video material without wi-fi. Appreciate any suggestion to deal with this problem.

The wifi iPad 2 came in three capacities, 16 GB, 32 GB and 64 GB. Which iPad 2 did you purchase?

Normally you select the quality of video you wish to download directly on the iPad 2 when you make the purchase.

If you are syncing your iPad 2 to a computer, you can designate whether you want HD or SD videos in the Preference settings.

No.

I have been testing at home at "airplane" mode to see which of apps/movies I can access.

If you do not have wifi access, you can only access movies (and all other data) sync'd to you device.

Plug in the iPad and select it in iTunes.

At bottom is a little graph showing how much space you have/are using.

No. You can buy an external HD like a SeaGate Go Flex Satelite drive but you have to have the movies on your computer, and then transfer them to the drive.

Thank you for the input. As I am still new to this iPad/iPhone culture, I ended up buying HD version which I realized after the fact. And because I am not able to download the TV series, I thought I might be able to change the series to standrd version as it must use less storage space. I need to be able to see the amount of storage available in iPad and how much of storage the apps/movies would require before I make a purchase. There must be a way.
