Hi, I'm using Mountain Lion and i deleted Safari too because of similar problems and i presumed i would be able to download it through the apple website or the app store but i could not find any download link.
the question is how would i reinstall mountain lion being new to OS X and Macs.
Unless you managed to save a copy to an external drive (there are instructions on how to do so around here somewhere), you'll need to redownload it from the Mac App Store. You won't need to pay for it again, either.
I don't know if it works but if you want to try version 5.1.7 here's a working link: http://mac.softpedia.com/progDownload/Safari-Download-25616.html
Try the Lion version. Did you do a clean install of ML? It's really strange that you don't have Safari after a reinstall.
Go to Spotlight in upper right corner of any screen, and type in "safari". It will pop up several findings that no other search found. Click on Safari and the icon magically reappears in the dock. If not, hopefully there will be a "keep in dock" option. My genius brother Fred immediately came up with this answer to the disappearing Safari icon problem and he was right.
