I upgraded to Mountain Lion and now I can't access any of my Word documents. What do I do? This is critical because all my reports are in Word format.

All my Power PC programs won't work now that I've upgraded to Mountain Lion; ie, I can't pull up any of my reports created in Word, Appleworks 6, or some testing software that I routinely use. Is there any way to access this data?

MacBook Pro, OS X Mountain Lion

Use Pages, TextEdit, OpenOffice, Office 2008 or better, or similar software to open them.

Starting in Lion, Power PC applicaitons will not work. I understand that the installer program for MS Office 2008 is a Power PC program so you can't install MS Office 2008 in Mountain Lion. I suggest upgrading to MS Office for Mac 2011. It will install. Your previous Word data should open. I don't know of MS Office 2011 will convert Appleworks documents. Someone else might be able to help with that.
