Bluetooth adapter - ipod nano 6g - kokkia i10s

Hello,

I've used my iphone with bluetooth headphones for quite some time while running, and recently decided to switch to a nano. One of the primary drivers of my decision was that I could use an adapter with the nano and still use by bluetooth headphones. I bought the nano and bluetooth adapter in early July, and used them successfully for probably five to ten runs. Now, all of a sudden, the adapter won't work and sometimes I get a "this accessory is not supported" message on the nano. It seems that everything worked fine until this most recent software update. I have checked the adapter's website and have emailed support with no response yet. I have successfully pair the headphones and the adapter before, and I don't think that is my problem. Does anyone here have ideas as to how I can get this working again?

I am using a ipod nano 6g, OS 1.2, and a Kokkia i10s bluetooth adapter, and jaybird freedom headphones. So far I have reset the ipod several times and have restored it once.

Thanks,

Logan

Check the docking connector on the bottom of the Nano for dust/dirt/debris and clean if necessary with a short shot of compressed air and a soft brush. If that does not work check the pins on the Nano connector and your Kokkia for damage.

Thanks again, Deggie. I thought this was a good idea, but I tried it and still no luck. I am getting a solid blue light on the adapter, rather than a blinking light to indicate pairing mode. I hope to hear something back from Kokkia support this week. The unit is less than a month old, so I am hoping they will replace it if it is defective.

Any other ideas.. please pass them along..

Thanks,

Logan

If you have something available, like a docking station, portable speakers, etc. that you can dock the Nano with do so. If you get the accessory message and it doesn't work the problem is with your Nano, if the Nano works the issue is with your Kokkia.

Hi,

The good news is that I emailed Kokkia and their support was great. They replaced my unit, no questions asked. The new unit worked two or three times, but then I had the same problem. After that I never did follow up with Kokkia. I wish I had a better answer, and maybe if Kokkia monitors these forums they can give us some answers.

Sounds good. Good luck! I agree.. It's a great working out solution with a nano 6g set up like a wristwatch. Only downside is it kind of drains your battery, so if you're training for a marathon or something it may not work well.
