How do i redown load all my itunes music?

    If the songs were purchased by you (using your currently-used Apple ID) from the iTunes Store...   Go to the main iTunes Store screen.  Log in if you are not already.  On the right side, find Purchased under QUICK LINKS.  On the Purchased screen, click on Music and find the song(s).  There is a Not on This Computer filter there that might be useful.  Next to the song name, you should see a button with a cloud symbol.  Click it to download that song.  There is a Download All button toward the bottom right.

     

    NOTE:  If it says "Downloaded" next to a song, that means that song is already in your current iTunes library.

    Do you know what to do if the location you are reffering to, only shows my apps and ebooks and nothing else?

    Have you purchased any songs, movies, or TV shows using the Apple ID (iTunes Store account) currently used for log in to the iTunes Store?  If you used a different Apple ID to purchase songs before, for example, that may be the reason only Apps and Books appear on the Purchased screen (because you only purchased apps and books using the current Apple ID).

     

    As a test, try downloading something free, such a song that is currently free.  After this "purchase," see if you can find it on the Purchased screen.  If Music now appears as a category on the Purchased screen, my guess is that (for this Apple ID), there were no previous song purchases.

    Thanks for your response,

    but I only have one Apple ID and I tried buying some new music, besides the stuff that I have bought before, but still only the apps and ebook buttons show up I have been looking at support pages all day, and I can't find any solution.

    and contact the iTunes Store customer support.  There may be some discrepancy with your iTunes account that is preventing some types of previous purchases from showing up on the Purchased screen.

    WEll, i had 2 songs downloaded to a 595 gb external hard drive, but the hard drive was a FAT32 type. so i had to get a disc, put all the data into it, but the data would transfer to the disc( cause i used it like a usb) but only as short cuts, so now I dont have the songs, but i did what you said up there Kenichi, but the music says downloaded. what do i do now?

    If it says "Downloaded" next to the song on the Purchased screen in iTunes, that usually means the song is already in the iTunes Music library on that computer.  In iTunes, look at the main Music library listing to see if the songs are listed there.  If they are there, then you may have the songs already.  You can do a right click on the song to show where the actually song file is located.  NOTE:  It's possible that the songs are listed there, but iTunes currently does not know where the song files are located so they are "grayed out" (not playable).

     

    If you want to redownload them, you'll need to delete the songs from the Music library first, so that they are no longer on the computer's iTunes (select them in the listing and hit Delete).  Then, go back to the Purchased screen in iTunes and there should be a button next to the song (with a cloud icon) to download the song (where it previously said "Downloaded").

    I was missing an entire CD. Tried to re-buy and said it was already in library. Took forever but it was on the Cloud server. Just had to re-load it from there.

    Just had the same thing. My folder has vanished and the way I solved it was by deleting all Music in my itunes library and then it allows you to re download via the purchased quick link in the itunes store (on the right).

     

    If the information is still showing in your library then it thinks its there. A pain in the bum and a lot to re dowload, but if you have bought all your music, it will re download.

     

    All CD's are lost im afriad, so will have to be re copied.

    I also need to redownload some music. But when i click "purchased" under the quick links, it does not show music. It only shows films, apps and books. How can I access my previously purchased music?

     

    I have purchased all songs with my current Apple ID (I have used the same ID all the time), so it seems like the should be there...

    I struggled with this for hours. If you have deleted it from your itunes library you can find it again in your "iTunes" folder in your computer. If youve deleted it from both your library and your hard drive to where the iTunes "Purchased" quick link is indicating you have already downloaded it heres what you do.

    1) Go back into the iTunes music section and type in the song as if you are going to purchase it again.

     

    2} Click the price like you would if you were purchasing it for the first time.

     

    3} A pop up will ask if you want to re-download the song for free since you have already purchased it. It will redownload it. Thank God.

     

    The only reason I discovered this was because in my frustraton I was just going to purchase it again HA!

    I tried to do this. The problem is, however, that there is no price tag for the songs I have bought previously. Only a "play" button. But when I click "play" the same old message reappears, that the song can't be found.

     

    So, it seems like I can neither find the song on my computer, download it again, nor even purchase it again.

     

    This is a really frustrating situation.

    For those that wonder why they cannot redownload purchased music, its not supported in all countries. Go to http://support.apple.com/kb/HT5085 and check if your country is listed under "iTunes in the Cloud availability by country". I live in Denmark, and I cannot redownload music from the store. Be sure to make a backup of your library, if this option is not available for your country.
