how do i convert a .xml file back to wps

a long file (50,000) words and pictures was saved wrongly as a .xml file, i must convert it back or else... i've tried an online converter, but it prompted "file too long" time machine did not help either.. in windows one can reset a file to a previous save.. please help. thank all
