Anyone else's Mouse double clicking instead of single after upgrading to Mountain Lion?

Hey guys,

I upgraded to Mountain Lion on the first day and immediately i noticed an issue with my mouse.

When I single click my mouse it frequently double clicks and is ****ing frustrating!! I use my mouse for work as a graphic designer and im a very fast worker - with this issue my productivity has nearly dropped a third.

I use a Logitech Performance MX mouse, but have also tried it on my standard (new / was unopened) Apple mouse that came with my iMac.

I have also tried altering the double click speed in the system preferences but the issue keeps repeating.

if ANYONE can help me i would very grateful as if this continues i could potentially lose my job.

iMac (21.5-inch Mid 2010), OS X Mountain Lion

Try turning off Spring Loaded folders. Things are 90% better for me for me now but it still happens from time to time.

System Preferences > Accessibility > unclick "Spring Loading delay."

Also set up preferences for mouse double click speed at 4 spaces from the far left.

I found that moving to which usb port I plugged my mouse coupled with going to system preferences>utilities< uninstalling all my logitech stuff helped. I don't think it fixed it completely. But, it happens less frequently. oh vey

Note: when I put back the original 10.7 Lion disk everything is normal.

So this is not a problem with the PRAM and NVRAM.

This is not a logitech only issue. I'm experiencing the same thing with my Razer DeathAdder 3.5g. Has any additional knowledge on this come to light? Thanks! Greyson

It turns out in my case that my mouse had gone bad, oddly, exactly when I upgraded to Mountain Lion—just funny coincidence.

If you use Magic Mouse, try this: https://www.macupdate.com/app/mac/33095/magicprefs

It speeds it up at least double and sets it a bit more reliably...

Thanks. That was it. I moved the slider to slow, thinking that fast was the opposite of my problem.

My problem is with the track pad on a MacBook Air. Acts as if I double-clicked and seems to click randomly other times. Very frustrating.

I could certainly use a solution.
