New MacBook Pro 13" Battery Life

Recently I have bought a MacBook Pro 13", I have noticed that the battery life goes down very quickly, even without me using it.

I called Apple, they told me to reset the SMC, which I did, then leave it on charge until full battery then unplug and let it be for 1 hour, without me using it.

I did that and the battery life went down to 88%.

I've never had a laptop so I am not sure if this is normal.

I'd appreciate some people's thoughts!

Thanks!

If it went for an hour and only lost 12%, we can extrapolate this [100 divided by 12 is approximately 8 hours]. Therefore your battery life would have been about 8 hours on that charge.

Now if you were using it, it would probably be somewhere around the 5-7 hour range, depending on what you were using. It seems regular. If you're superstitious about your battery charge, you can leave it plugged in at your desk, and when you need to bring it around, make sure you don't move around for more than 5 hours.
