battery compatibility

I am looking for a replacement for a very dead titanium powerbook battery. The model number is M8511. Can I replace it with model M8244G/A? It says it's for the titanium G4 powerbook, which is exactly what I have but I'm wary...

Do I need to replace this battery with the exact same model number or is there any interchangeability?

Any advice or links to resources greatly appreciated.
thanks

Hi, Kathy. Many different part numbers have appeared on Tibook batteries. My own 1GHz Ti, manufactured in the final week of Tibook production, has its original A1012 battery, so I presume that was the last number Apple put on those batteries. But according to several online vendors whose sites I just checked, the M8511, all the M8244s with and without letter suffixes, the A1012, and several others are all interchangeable.
