How do I restore iPod Nano to Factory Default without iTunes?

I have a iPod Nano 5th Gen which has worked fine for some time. However, after an Apple update on June 13 of the software below, I get an error below in iTunes when I plug it into my computer. It shows up as a drive on my computer, but iTunes just can't identify it. I have Windows 7 Home Premium 64-bit and iTunes v10.6.3.25 64-bit.

I have followed each of the steps in http://support.apple.com/kb/TS1363, "iPod Appears as a storage device in Windows, but not in iTunes". However, it still does not fix the problem.

How can I restore iPod to its default factory settings if I cannot get iTunes to recognize it?

Problem Solved. Though I had uninstalled and reinstalled iTunes earlier, I did not uninstall ALL Apple software.

1. This morning I completely completely deleted everything on the iPod using Windows since it could still mount as a disk.

2. I uninstalled all the software in the OP as well as Quicktime Pro.

3. I checked my registry for errors using CCleaner and let CCleaner fix all of them.

4. I reinstalled iTunes, which also reinstalled the other Apple software in the list except Quicktime.

5. When I opened iTunes, then plugged in the iPod, it started with the initial sync options and loaded everything just as I would for a new iPod..

Now everything is working fine.
