Double ical entries in mac/iphone using iCloud?

Just upgraded to mountain lion and when I turned on iCloud all my ical entries in ical where in duplicate. Feeling very frustrated that I upgraded. Apple should have all the bugs fixed before launching apps. I can't figure out how to undo the duplicate entries. Can't seem to find an answer can anyone help?

Icalendar has this section on the calendar called "delegates" - its under your list of calendars. I think that is where you would put in "location" or the like. My duplicate entries were where I had put in a location on my primary calendar (that being my Google calendar - my entries on that are automatically copied/exported into my icalendar.) Rather than change all the entries on Google calendar, I just unchecked those boxes on the "delegates" section of iclandar for those 'calendars' that showed multiple entries. That worked!

Suddenly without upgrading any software my iPhone showed duplicate events for each day whereas iCloud and Outlook calendars were fine. Still running iOS 7.1.2. Just stumbled across this solution. At the bottom of the "Show All Calendars" page is a button called "Show Declined Events". I toggled that on and off then the duplicate events disappeared!
