I remember the same thing happened to me last year when I upgraded to Lion. I'm spitballing, but I think it has something to do with the accounts activated in preferences in contacts. So go to contacts and preferences and see if there are multiple accounts listed.

Thanks. Followed the link and everything is duplicated on icloud website so I guess I'm calling apple tomorrow.
