Samsung tablet doesnt load on Mac

Hi,

My Samsung Galaxy Tab 8.9 ( on Honeycomb 8.9) isnt loading up on the MAC OS X Lion and now Mountain Lion both when I try to connect it using the samsung tablet's cable into the lappy's usb port.

I only see the MTP initialized on notifications section on the tablet , but this doesn't show up in the Finder on Mac.

(However, I do see the tablet detected in System Information utility in the USB dropdown :-( and bluetooth betwee samsung tablet and macbook air works fine as well, but its too slow for transfering movies & music )

Tried using Kies 2.0 as well for Mac, but that is always Trying to Connect the tablet and eventually fails...

Anyone with same problem and found solutions to this...please help.
