How do I update Pages to 4.2 on Mountain Lion?

Have you looked in your Purchases tab in the App Store? You should have the option to redownload it from there and then you can check for the upgrade.

If you installed iWork from a DVD originally then the update should be in the Updates tab of the App Store. All system (and Apple-supplied software) updates now come through the same update mechanism as App Store app updates.

I am having the same issue and no ones advice seems to help. It doesnt show up on the updates as youve installed it from the iwork dvd.

Although updates for apps installed from retail disks now appear in the Mac App Store (MAS) under Mountain Lion, they are not under Purchases because you didn't buy through MAS. Run the old Software Update under the Apple icon. The updates will appear in the Mac App Store app for download.

I've just done it for iWork '09. It works fine.

If you have Pages, Numbers, and Keynote and installed them from the retail box, then you MUST have them in the original iWork '09 folder or they will NOT update.

It sounds like all of you have removed them from your iWork '09 folder in your Applications folder.

Create a new iWork '09 folder with that exact tiltle and you should be able to update them.

You may need to restart after creating the folder but not positive.

I am haveing the same problem. I put pages back into the iWork 09 folder. still no update in app store. I have pages version 4.0.2. Does anyone else have any idea whats up with this

I was running iWork 4.1, but I had the files out of the original folder. Like Joseph wrote, I created a new folder in the Applications folder named "iWork '09" and put Pages, Numbers, and Keynote in it. I ran Software Update and it found the update for iWork 9.2, which was around 317MB. I did not need to restart. Worked perfectly!

From what you show above, you did not name the folder correctly.

you forgot the ' before the 09

Glad you got it working.

The reason I know this is I did the same thing.

When Apple started selling the iWork apps separately, I figured I could remove them from the folder.

The apps work fine but they will not update.

So, back in the folder they went and then they could be updated via the App Store app or Software Update.

I too have this problem. Pages is in the correctly named folder but - no updates available. I loaded this via Cds but the Apple Store won't let me even buy a new version so it recognises something is there. it just won't update.
