Failed to read module Re-install.:20600

I recently upgrated to Mountain Lion.

After instalation I was unable to print (Canon iRC3080i).

I received an error message saying:

"Failed to read module Re-install.:20600"

So I installed Canon UFR II Printer Driver v2.41 (no other support for OSX 10.8 yet)

Now, the printer prints but everytime I get this error mesage:

"The printed output may be incorrect because the printer information has not been acquired.

Start Printer Utility to get the printer information".

Please help.

Open a PDF in Preview and select to print. With the show details selected, change from the Preview menu to Special Features. Under the image of the iRC3080i you will see a Printer Info button. Press this, it should open the Printer Information window. If it does, press the OK button and then try to print to see if that stops the message.

Also, for you information, there is the PS v3.51 driver for 10.7 that also works on 10.8. So if your iRC3080i has the PS option installed then you can use this driver.

Sorry. That was the case with the previous PS and UFR2 drivers. Just got home and checked the PS v3.51 driver and can see that things have changed. So you need to open Print & Scan, select the iR C3080i PS printer and press Options & Supplies. Then select Open Printer Utility. This will open the Printer Utility and here you will see the Printer Information button.

I don't get this message but then I am using this driver to a newer model (iR ADV C7065).

Can you take a grab of this message please.

In the meantime, you can create another print queue but using the Generic Postscript driver included with 10.8. This will get you printing without the message.

Take a grab of this message ? What do you mean, a printscreen ?

Yes. Move the mouse over the window that appears and then press Command Shift 4 Spacebar. This will select the window and then click to grab the image.

Thanks for your help, I guess I'll have to live with it untill Canon solve this problem

with some driver update or something...

These two drivers are not the official 10.8 drivers. They are due in September. But I cannot get either driver to generate the message you are getting. I believe that one cause could be from having an older version of the driver installed on Lion, then upgrading to Mtn Lion. My test builds are all clean installs of 10.8. So if you did update from 10.7 with the Canon drivers installed and working previously, then I would suggest you remove the printer/s from Print & Scan and then trash the CUPSPS2 and/or UFR2 folder from HD > Library > Printers > Canon. You can then install the latest version of driver again and see if that stops the message from appearing when you print.

It's OS bug issue as I think.

Apple have to update software asap...

How can print it in Canon printer.

I got same situtation my MBP with 10.8 OS.

No. It is the Canon driver. Another user was having the same issue and it was being caused by a previous version of the Canon driver still interferring with the new driver. The solution was to remove all the associated Canon driver files, the BG.plist and PPDs. Then when the latest 10.8 driver was installed again the problem was resolved. Refer to this posting.
