I have two birthday reminders for single contacts?

Firstly, I apologise if this has been asked elsewhere but it was proving difficult to search through all the other threads.

Ok so for some reason i've got two different birthday reminders for some contacts. I'm using Windows Live Mail and I synced all my contacts from there onto my ipod and the birthdays have carried over (I think, not sure if all of them but hey). I am sure that I did manually put the birthdays in for a couple of contacts a while before I synced all the contacts from WLM so that could be the reason for some, but there are definitely others which I couldn't have done - reason being I don't know the date of their birthday. One has a red dot next to it, the other is a picture of a present/gift.

Here's a screenshot:

Now if possible, I would prefer to have them all just as the one with the present next to it... so anyone know what's going on here?

Also, some of them show up with the nickname instead of the full name (I fixed them all before I synced). I double-checked in WLM and in the contacts folder in my document and this guy had an empty box for 'nickname' on both accounts.... yet it still shows up as his nickname 😕

So anyone know how to fix this? I'm a bit of an OCD freak so it's driving me insane haha

Thanks 😉

Not to worry. When you imported your calendars from Windows Live, it synced the birthdays you had there. Since you also entered the birthdays for some of the same people on their contact information as well, it shows up twice because it automatically pushed the birthday to the calendar. You have to choose between Windows Live calendars or your device's conatcts. Essentially speaking, it would the best decision to choose the one that has the most birthdays already entered. I'll give you both scenarios, however:

If you want to get rid of the Windows Live birthday:

-Tap the event that has the dot next to it

-Edit the event

-Delete the event (and all recurring events)

**I believe this will also delete the event across all other devices that have the Windows Live account synced

If you want to get rid of the contact's birthday that you entered manually:

-Go into your Contacts on your iOS device

-Go to the contact that has the birthday that is repeated (for example, the pictures that you included: "Calum Leask.")

-Edit the contact

-Remove the birthday from the contact

I hope I was of help

Ok so I tried deleting the one with the red dot, although after I deleted it the 'circle of lines thing' to show it's loading (no idea what the technical term for it is :L) came up at the top and then it the event I had just deleted re-appeared 😮

So I'm thinking this could be to do with my settings, I'm not using icloud (or at least not for contacts/mail - just the 'find my ipod' option is on).

Here's how my calender/reminder settings are looking:

I had a look in the sync options but there's no way to turn it totally off... 😕

I've only manually entered about 5 or 6 max, as I said there are people who I definitely haven't manually entered a birthday for but still they have the 2 events 😕

All the birthdays seem to be there on Windows Live yes. There's only one event for each though, which practically makes it a dead cert that the problem lies with my ipod...

So confused 😕 and thanks for helping so far 🙂
