Safari 6 does not fill username and password fields

Since my update to ML 10.8 and Safari 6.0, all my websites with stored passwords don't get their username / password fields populated.

My settings seem to be correct, with the checkbox checked in Preferences to fill the password fields automatically, and I see my usernames / passwords in the Password tab for the websites.

I also reinitialized Safari, except for clearing out the passwords (because I want to keep them, of course), but still no success

Any idea what's going on in Safari 6?

Just clicked on this thread because the same thing is happening to both my MacBook Pro and iMac since upgrading to ML, but on some sites the fields get populated. On Authorize.net I previously just had to type the first letter and it would enter username and password. Now I have to enter every character and it does not ask if I want to save the info. Amazon, my checking account and Paypal populate so security does not seem to be a factor. UPS, Fedex, my shop cart, I have to consult my Rolodex.

I have the Autofill settings right and the passwords are stored correctly. This really goofs me up because now I have to carry a Rolodex with me.

Hi media_lush,

No luck. I tried both "Keychain First Aid" and then removing the .plist for Keychain, but no luck.

I did find something interesting yesterday. I was playing around with the developer menu from Safari, and in the User Agent menu, I selected "Internet Explorer 7". Well, for one site (not all) where the passwords were not stored, they were now!

My guess from this is that Safari has changed the rules where it identifies a form as being a "password form". I've seen this on many of my sites using much JQuery or SPRY for form validation: with SPRY attached to password form fields, Safari rarely (if not ever) prompts to store the password info, but if I remove the SPRY validation from the fields, Safari will save the username/password fields.

Conclusion: no luck yet, same issue. 😟

This is odd, but no Library file is listed under my User file (the one with a house icon). When I search in Finder for "library" (as a folder) I get two folders with nothing but FontCollections and one with 3 items unrelated.

When I search "com.apple.keychainaccess.plist" nothing is found.

Does ML have a vastly different architecture?
