I have messages on mountain lion and I have iMessage on my iPhone. Both are connected to receive messages to the same apple ID and any new message syncs between them beautifully. But is there a way to get my past iMessages to show up on my Mac?

I had the same prob but went to Messages, Prefs, Accounts, and found the top one, IMessages was showing INACTIVE, so signed in and after a long while and a crash it worked after rebooting and is still working and syncing with my ipad sat next to it so all seems well.Steve
My account is active and I even tried resetting it back up. Any new iMessages show up fine on my computer I just want to be able to see my older messages and conversations. How long does it take for them to all show up?
