Mountain Lion Crashes on resume from sleep

Is anyone else having problems with Mountain Lion crashing frequently on resume from sleep? I have tried using both the default "sleep and hibernate" mode and switching to hibernate only. In both modes, OSX "gray" screens just after it appears to finish resuming from sleep mode. This is an Early 2011 MBP 15" with a clean Lion upgraded to Mountain Lion.

It is starting to look like another failed upgrade, "sigh". I haven't had any luck with OSX OS upgades and always seems like I end up rebuilding.

I was experiencing issues as a result of Sophos Anti Virus. Uninstalled Sophos and reinstalled 10.8 now everything runs sweetly 😉

Do you mean you resinalled Mountain Lion from scratch or Sophos latest release?

Remove Sophos if you have it installed then reinstall 10.8 ML and leave Sophos of your system until they resolve the issue

Same happening here. I also have a problem with Mail.app crashing when I close the window with cmd+w. My upgrade to Mountain Lion was applied Lion that had been migrated from my old MacBook.

The migrated setup was working fine for just over a week before I upgraded to Mountain Lion. Unfortunately I didn't check that Time Machine was backing up my machine and it turns out I don't have that as an option of rolling back to Lion.

Hoping that a fix is found to both problems. Fairly confident given that other people are reporting the same, even on a clean upgrade.

There is a new version of Sophos specifically for 10.8 OSX. It is still Sophos version 8 but the file name has changed to reflect ML compatibility. I am going to try this new version and report the results.

This does not appear to be related. We are not discussing wifi problems at resume. My Wifi is working fine.

Loading "savosx_80_he.10.8+.dmg" version for ML of Sophos does not resolve the issue. I am running now without Sophos installed and am not having any issues so far.

My MBP is 13 inch, early 2011.

I too am having this problem. Grey screen of death after waking from sleep. I don't have Sophos software installed either.

I wasn't running "Deep Sleep". I am running "Smart Sleep". Since removing Sophos things seem fine and Smart Sleep seems to be working as designed as well. I'll probably open a ticket with Sophos next, the version I was running claimed 10.8 compatibility.

I'm also having constant crash/freeze issues. Seems to be when it wakes from sleep. VERY Frustrating. I'm going to have to go back to the former OS using TIme Machine and lose a bunch of work from the last few days.

I don't know if this will be a fix for anyone else, but I've found if I Turn Off Bluetooth before I put the computer to sleep I no longer have issues when waking from sleep.

I had the same problem, no special software installed. What solved the problem for me was turning my WiFi off before closing my MacBook.
