best way to push my mac to the limit

Hi guys,

Been having some temperature worries on the Mac Book pro retina, it hits and runs at around 90 celsius when running diablo 3. is this normal?

I want to see if this is normal, is there a way of pushing my mac to it's limit to check the temperatures it hits?

thanks

nick

What do you mean "push it to the limits"? Your machine has thermal overload built into the firmware. If it should reach a critical temperature, it will shut itself down to avoid damaging components. Otherwise, it will ramp up the cooling fan speeds as cpu, gpu, and other system loads ramp up to keep the temperatures inside of operating limits.

Make sure it does have lots of good airflow around it, especially under it (you can buy a laptop table or rest to raise it up a bit to get better airflow along the bottom). The case itself, especially the bottom, acts as a heat sink.

As long as your fans are ramping up as it heats up it is operating normally.
