I bought my first MacBook on Saturday and have already made 4 x 100 mile round trips to the store with it with various issues. I've been trying to download my free version of ML for three days - the store said when I took it back to say it was hanging that I needed to allow 20 hours (!!!) as it was a huge download, but it still isn't working. I don't have an error message, and it says that it's downloading, but it's been hanging in the same place for days, with only a couple of mm of the download bar showing. I tried re-downloading it from the App store, but it won't let me do that as my code has already been redeemed once. I've got fast internet, and it's working fine - although the Mac is going SO slow I can only assume that it is *trying* to download something. Any ideas - I'm used to troubleshooting on a PC, but I'm nervous of doing anything to the Mac.

"We could not complete your purchase. OS X Mountain Lion is not compatible with this computer."

As I already stated,

The version of the current OS is irrelevant to your problem. Your other Mac is likely not capable of running Mountain Lion because it is too old.

Joseph posted the minimum requirements above. If your other Mac doesn't meet those requirements, you can't install ML on that Mac.

Given that it actually said your Mac was incompatible, then it is definitely not capable as opposed the the likely part I posted before.
