I am happy to see the implementation of iCloud in Pages, Numbers, etc in Mountain Lion.
I am curious about files I have in iCloud. Since I can turn off wifi on my MBP and still access "Pages" documents on iCloud, I assume a copy of the iCloud files must be on the MBP too. Is that correct? Where does Pages store them?

iCloud documents are stored in the Mobile Documents folder in your user library.

Same place.
If you don't see your user library, hold down the Option/alt key while clicking the File menu. Better yet, click on your Home folder, the house icon, & choose Show View Options from the View menu & check Show Library Folder.
