Backup failed with error 19, after ML upgrade

Hi,

after upgrade from Lion to Mountain Lion, TimeMachine is not working anymore.

In Console, I get this error:

com.apple.backupd[6067]: Backup failed with error: 19

Should I apply this command?

Is this a new issue?

I'm using Iomega NAS ix2-200 Cloud Edition

Thanks

Oliver

I had the same issue. I discovered that with the installation of Mountain Lion the network hosst name was changed.

from baggeraar's-imac to baggeraars-imac. when I made a new time machine backup in the web based configurator of the Iomega NAS with the new host name, the problem was solved.

The solution was a little off for me for some reason, but THANK YOU, it got me on the right track.

First of all, I have the same setup (i.e. Mountain Lion with an IOMega Storcenter ix200), and after the upgrade to ML, the TimeMachine Backups failed.

IOMega posted their solution here:

However, the instructions are vague.

To clarify what worked for me, from Terminal, run the following command (obviously replacing the username and IP address with your values, and without the <>'s)

sudo tmutil -ap setdestination afp://<USERNAME_GOES_HERE>@<IP_ADDR_GOES_HERE>/TimeMachine

Instead of using the IP address, I'm sure you could use your Nas name (e.g. MyNasName.local). However, I setup a DHCP reservation for my NAS so that it gets the same IP all the time.
