iPhoto 11 asks to update Aperture media library (???!!!)

Hi,

since a few weeks, I cannot open my iPhoto library (130 GB) anymore. I haven't changed anything software-wise on purpose. I uploaded pics and the next day:

When starting iPhoto '11, I get the information to update my Aperture media library in order to open it with iPhoto.

Strange thing is: I never had Aperture running on that iMac nor do I own Aperture.

The question is: what made iPhoto recognize its own library now as being an Aperture library?

More important: what can I do to get it all back working the way it was....!

And yes: I have a backup on TM... BUT even those backup library files are recognized as Aperture files.. so no help at all!

I hope some of you had the same problem and has a solution....!

Thx

Bodo

You're absolutly right:

1. I tried to get the library running out of the backup

2. I started iPhoto with CMD + ALT to rebuild the library

3. I installed iPhoto Library Manager. But when adding the existing library file in order to rebuild it, the app suggests to start iPhoto with the same result, that iPhoto ask to update Aperture.

All steps lead to the point that iPhoto tells me to update to Aperture 3.3 in order to open the library with iPhoto
