You apple apologists may feel this implementation of Spaces is just fine: it is not. They warped what already was a half-assed Virtual Desktop implementation into something far less useful than it already was.
* It's NOT as easy to assign applications to the Desktop of choice.
* It's NOT as easy to navigate to the Desktop of choice.
* It's NOT as easy to say, "this application should be in every desktop." (Quicksilver doesn't work in every Desktop, just the first one, for example)
My 27" iMac is NOT my iPhone, it doesn't need to function the same way. This is yet another seriously [bad word] decision moving what had been an elegant and efficient OS towards Fisher-Price land (yes, I loathe Unity and Gnome3, as well and for similar reasons, but at least those're free).
