From Apple's Download page I discovered a large update for iMovie and another update for Java, but never saw any ML updates on either Apple's web page or App Store.

Still waiting....

I think the people who got the ML update is for specific Apple computers, and since mine is an slightly older iMac there probably is not an update avialable yet.

Still waiting...

For those who did get an update for ML I wonder what kind of computer they have?

I've been following this thread for a while now, trying everthing suggested.. and I was just posting how I think my machine was fixed cos I hadn't crashed for days...... and right then and there my my screen flickered and I beachballed!!! what are the chances!!! anyway I just wanted to say that I have now crashed in 10.8.2 (12C34)

I saw this 10.8.2 1.4GB update last night so I ran it. When it finally downloaded it didn't install so I closed the App Store and ran Check for Updates again. It now says there are no updates and my MacBook Pro is still at 10.8.1. I suspect the update was posted in error.

My early 2008 MacBook Pro is working fine with a clean install as is my mother's 2011 iMac which I just ran an upgrade. My sister's 2012 MacBook Pro which also was upgraded has an occasional freeze, I'm starting to suspect is not related to the issues discussed here.

According to my techie brother, probably we are all waiting for some graphics patch to come out, and there's likely nothing much we can do until it does come out. Other than besiege Apple about it. So don't waste too much time trying different things out, just uninstall ML for now. My system is only crashing once or twice a week, so it's useable....

No one is going to help you!

There will be no help until Apple comes out with a ML update. Last week they did come out with an update but withdrew it.

Good luck finding help from techies who are either clueless or withholding the truth about ML.

They might be able to solve the one issue you are having, but they are not helping you with the true problem of ML! That won't happen until they come out with the real ML update.

All we can really do is sit and wait until that happens.

Good luck!

This is my second board for the MBP, i already had glitches and distorsions with the first bord. In my opinion the GPU fails in some cases, and we are the lucky ones with these failing chips. I think if this is a series failure there should be more people out here crying.

I had a MBP 2009, also GPU Fail with glitches and Distorsion. I hate glitches and it always was a ATI Chip, never NVidia, they also had them but got a replacement programm for the series.

I try to let them switch the board . . . hope . . . as usual, should be done in 30 min.

thx for the quick replay,

As i told, I let you know.
