iTunes Match on Mountain Lion doesn't work on my 2012 MacBook Pro. I had Lion before, and iTunes Match worked fine. Now it disconnects and back every few seconds. I tried resetting cache, iTunes, turning on/off match, but nothing works. Now what?

I recently upgraded my 2012 MacBook Pro (w/o the new display) from Lion to Mountain Lion. On the ladder, iTunes Match doesn't work. It never connects, in other words, I can't use it, thus making songs uploaded unplayable. On Lion, iTunes Match worked perfectly. I tried resetting iTunes Store Cache, program itself, turning off and on Itunes Match several times, etc, but nothing works. So now what can I do? Hopefully Apple rolls out an update this week to correct the problem. This is very irritating.

Well, yesterday I switched/upgraded from an airport extreme to a time capsule 3 TB as my main router. unfortunately this brought no change, I'm still not able to upload songs to iTunes match. So for me it's definitely not a network/router problem (yes, I did a fresh install of the time capsule). I've tried uploading songs using through Wi-Fi and fixed cable, but still no change.

I'm a bit afraid (to say the least) to to wipe my iTunes Match library and start all over again. Because if this doesn't solve the problem, I will be really stuck with no library at all :-(

What I find strange, that this thread isn't any longer than it is now. Seems to me that relatively few people come across this problem.

I had the very same issue here. After reading some posts and hints, I took my Macbook Air late 2011 to my office and it worked fine under the local wi-fi network. Back home, I got the same issue again. Then I decided to upgrade the firmware of my D-link DIR-635. I had to check directly into the manufacturer website, as, inside the "check for firmware updates" tool there were no updates available. But, in the site, I found a newer firmware (2008 to 2010).

After doing that, I restored my dir-635 for the previus parameters and the problem has gone.

I hope my experience be useful for you all.🙂

I'm having the same problem here in Canada. I signed up last fall when it became available in Canada and the service has been quite reliable (except from hiccups from time to time) on my home iMac, Macbook Pro, Mac Mini, Apple TV and iPhone. It also worked fairly well on my work Win7 PC.

But since I installed Mountain Lion on my MBP and iMac, it doesn't work at all. Even worse! Since it's forever looping, iTunes is constantly downloading data! (I have more than 100GB of music) 😮

I switched WiFi networks, tried using a wired ethernet cable, no luck 😟

Decided to give an update to my issues with Itunes Match:

- Had OS X LION, worked fine.

- Clean Installed Mountain Lion OS X from DP2-DP3-DP4-GM

- Itunes Match does not work

- Deauthorized computer. Signed out of Itunes. Rebooted. Signed back in. Authorized computer. Turn Genius On. Turn Itunes Match on. Failed. (this has been over 12 times).

- Submitted bug report on Dev Report, asked for my ID in response, never heard from again.

- Contacted Apple Support, no fix, told me to contact Itunes support (which I did)- Itunes support told me to contact Apple Support (which I explained i just did and where we are at)

- Re-did my Itunes Library. Tested again. Failed.

- Created a new user on Mountain Lion, tested again. Failed

- I have a Windows 7 machine that I dont use, so I installed Itunes. Signed in. Authorized account. Turned on Itunes Match, it is matching and checking songs, which I have only a few there. It finished step 1 and 2 with no problems, uploading songs and finished.

- After speaking/emailing with Apple support with over 10 emails of things to try, they told me to hard wire my Macbook pro to the Airport Extreme Router. Although I tried mulitple networks, and tried this once before, it finally went through for some reason. So, not sure what my fix was, I performed one change at a time, and never worked, but for some reason it works this time. Not sure IF the next time Itunes match is updated will it work again or just fail.

They do no know why, but they wanted to know all the routers I have tried, since i installed all 3 networks I gave them the information.

I am having the same issue. Every since I upgraded to Mountain Lion my iTunes Match has not been working. I have already spoken to Apple Support, iCloud Support, iTunes Support and visited a Genius Bar regarding this issue and have yet to receive a resolution. The last rep I spoke to today said that this was definetley an iTunes issue so don't let iTunes Support pass you around like they did with me. This has become very frustrating since I have paid for this service and it has not been working for almost a month now. It is also frustrating that you can only contact iTunes Support by email.. this is 2012 and they can only receive email????

I finally got iTunes Match working on my 2009 iMac over the weekend. I couldn't ever pinpoint the exact issue, but what I did that ended up working was to switch my wireless router from the D-Link DIR-655 to an older [and slower, of course] D-Link model [DI-524 if I remember correctly] I previously used on my home network. After the switch, iTunes Match ran fine on the computer in question.

So ... after a month of sign-in, sign-out, authorize, deauthorize, etc. it's now running smoothly. There must be some compatibilty issues with that wireless router I suppose? What's more, I can't find any information about any known issues with that router and Mountain Lion or otherwise. I mention this only because perhaps there are other routers out there with same issues. Luckily I had my old one still around to try. I know it's not an option for everyone.

It should be noted that the DIR-655 works fine with Match when it is hard-wired, but my home setup doesn't allow for that here. [Hence I didn't buy a wireless router to run LAN.] Don't know if this will help any, but wanted to share my experience.

I have the same issue and this is related to some kind of conflict between iTunes Match and my Modem. When I start iTunes Match it gathers info then going to "waiting for Apple to deliver match reults" status. Then all the time my network connection goes off and the whole process restarts. Now the only time my network goes off is during that process. I turn iTunes Match off it never happens. Then for the test I went to Internet Cafe and tried the same and no problem there, never goes off line. Not sure if this is confict with Modem itself or maybe some settings. Anybody has any idea?

Upgrading the firmware on my D-Link DIR-855 and resetting my params from a config backup seems ot have resolved it for me also. Been through two itunes match updates (one with 3, another with 7).

It was a bit of a pig getting the latest firmware though. The website was no use. What was supposed to be the latest version wasnt actually the latest version and the link was broken anyway. I had to connect to the ftp and look for myself. Managed to find a newer version (1.23WW) than the website.

I'm back with a major misbehaviour of iTunes match. A few days it runs smoothly. Now it constly tries to match 5 new songs - for hours. After it receives results from Apple, it starts all over again, gathers information from my library, sends it to Apple, Apple responds, boom - back to start. Mountain Lion Update has brought no improvement.

Update: I remembered what I did the last time I had this issue. So I did it again.

Steps on my iMac:

1. Deactivating Genius and Match

2. Close iTunes

3. Start up iTunes

4. Activate Match

This time it told me that a Match session from another computer ⚠ is still running and asked me to stay on or break the running session. I broke it in order to continue starting a new one.

5. Match runs through in my Imac with no issues in less then 5 minutes. 1 Song has been uploaded during that process.

Done!

Conclusion:

I don't this there is any network issue on my end. I haven't changed anything on my network during that 10 minutes procedure described above. Can't imagine my ISP is doing changing on his network on a Sunday moring 7am where the procedure took place.

I believe there are still bugs in the Match procedure.

Having the same problem here on an iMac. Everything worked fine in Lion, and since Mountain Lion match has failed to work. I wouldn't really mind, but every time match restarts (about every 60 seconds) iTunes focuses on the iTunes Match window no matter what I am doing. It will even maximize iTunes and focus it to do this. When I am working on the mac (rarely, but sometimes I have to) it is extremely annoying - what happened to 'quietly and in the background'???

I have followed all the steps here and it still persists.

Out of my library of 15,230 tracks...

12,344 (81%) - have an 'error occured' message.

432 (2%) - were ineligible

2449 (16%) - were successfully moved to the cloud

Obviously these were done before mountain lion. I guess it is hardly worth me having this service anyway?
