Brauseauto Level 1 Level 1

Hello everyone,

does anybody have some graphic problems in Mountain Lion? These problems often appears in Mail or Safari.

For instance, it look like:

Anybody some ideas about it? Is there a fix from apple? I installed Mountain Lion (clear install with second HD, boot from second HD and download ML, format intern HD and start Install from ML, choose intern HD, after Install just switch the second HD off) now seven times and always there are these glitches...

Best Regards,

I am not seeing this kind of graphic diaplay anomalies on my iMac;  But I am seeing in cases when I was trying to scroll, my scroll bars (set to Automatic based on input) suddenly gets fatter, then later, disappear and reappear again, will be back to its rightful thin width.

Think,  this is normal! If you are scrolling, you have thinn scrollbars... if you want to get to a specific position by clicking the scrollbar with mouse or trackpad, the scrollbar is growing for better scrolling. Its easier to click on a big thing ;-) But thanks!

Anyone else has these graphic problems?

Do you mean this is normal, or a "new feature" in Mountain Lion?  I did not see it in Lion.  By the way, it is not when I zero in on a specfic spot that it "grows fatter", it's like normal scrolling, when I start scrolling in a column with long list, the scroll bars will appear right?  And they appear much much "fatter"!  When I move to another column or let the scroll bars disappear for a while and then scroll again to let them show again, they appears as normal...

So I think that may be a cosmetic graphic UI issue... I'll try and take a screen shot, but because it happens so fast and split second, it is hard

I'm seeing this problem too but only in Mail.  Strange graphically glitches/colours that move around the screen.  Definately a GPU driver problem.  Had similar problems when Snow Leopard was first released (fix in a later update).

I'm experiencing excatly the same issue.

MBP early 2011 15'', 8GB RAM, Intel HD Graphics 3000 and AMD Radeon HD 6750M.

I experienced this only in Mail (don't use Safari). Never experienced it in Lion.

okay, sounds, that not only me is infected with that kind of problem...

Intel HD Graphics 3000 (512 MB) and AMD Radeon HD 6770M (1GB) are my Graphic Cards...

And its definately a GPU driver Problem...

How long it will take, until apple fix this? How long till 10.8.1?

In Safari i dont have these glitches, but if i am typing in any textfield, i cant see my text sometimes... problems like that, so there must be a bug too.

I too have a 1GB ATI card (or maybe the Intel 3000's at fault), but there was an ATI driver problem in Snow Leopard too.  I can't understand how this wasn't noticed in testing.  It's so obvious.

I have a late 2011 MB Pro i7 with the Intel HD Graphics 3000 video, and am experiencing these same issues, patches of randomness on top of content and garbled images on web pages, as if they didnt download correctly, glad this is a common issue, thought I might be sending it in for a warranty claim.

    Good Idea!

I did not think about that option... i have warranty

But if you get the same hardware and it must be a GPU problem, you will have the same problems after changing it... wont you?

Seems, that we have nearly the same hardware...

I have the same problem using Mail on a mid 2011 MacBook Air (Intel HD Graphics 3000 384 MB).

How the **** did Apple miss this problem in the pre-release testing!

Hopefully 10.8.1 will fix the problem.

  • Brauseauto Level 1 Level 1

Yeah, i didn't get that, because there are many bugs i found out with just one klick...

I thought, they have beta versions to fix these bugs...

    @Toni Ramírez

    Welcome, you are not alone...

Anyone else with this problems? Any solutions? I sent an email to Apple and the man at the phone will resend it to the american apple ingenieurs, hope, that they fix it soon... as i get some helpful hints or informations, i'll post it here...

I did a clean install of ML just a few days ago and straight away I got:

    - Graphical glitches in Mail

    - Adobe Photoshop also has some strange GUI glitches (but this might just be a Photoshop problem)

    - Preview sluggish when not in fullscreen mode

    - The whole screen sometimes looses contrast when switching from Intel to AMD (e.g. when opening iPhoto)

    - Desktop background keeps reverting back original

    - Whole system has randomly crashed twice

I suppose that's what you get for installing v1.0 of a new OS.  Apart from the above, everything feels very 'snappy' and fast.

I also have this grafic problems using Safari. I've got a Early 2011 Macbook Pro 15" Intel i7.
