Windows to OSX VNC Broken in Mountain Lion
For the whole duration of Lion, I've been hoping for a fix for windows VNC clients (any - Ultra, Real, Tight) to stably connect to OSX 10.7.
10.7.1, 10.7.2, 10.7.3, 10.7.4, two remote desktop client updates and still you get either gray screens, login boxes that freeze or disconnected clients.
We've tried this with different macs, fresh rebuilds - it seems to be broken.
The sorry history is here;

And, as this appears to be broken still in Mountain Lion - I thought I'd start a new thread.
To be clear;
Apple to Apple works
This isn't about IOS to apple
This is about Real VNC (Currently at 5.01), TightVNC, UltraVNC etc not being able to connect to mac hosts runninas a VNC server since 10.7 and now 10.8.
To enable the VNC server in OSX; sharing, screen sharing, computer settings, "VNC Viewers may control screen with password".
These same clients are able to connect to all previous versions of OSX (10.6.8 works just fine on our other 8 machines, we have 1 on Lion and 1 on mountain lion).
If you are posting; can you write;
Host OS (EG OSX 10.8.x)
Client OS (EG Windows 7 64 Bit)
Client VNC (EG Real VNC 5.01)
to avoid confusion.
I'm not terrificically interested in Vine Server (which doesn't seem to be very stable) or Team Viewer *(Which requires commerical licenses) etc.
And 'blind password' entering, recreating accounts etc has been tried - these are fresh installs being tested.
