Reminders error with Exchange

I have a problem with Reminders.

I have an Exchange account setup on my computer and iPhone and Reminders has worked well on the iPhone (and still does). Now that Reminders is available on the Mac I have encountered a problem with it. I can create reminders on my Mac but can't clear them. I get an error message saying; Calendar can't save the reminder "xxx" to the Exchange server. I can still mark them as complete on my iPhone and they duely get marked as complete on the Mac. I can add and delete events from the same calendar without a problem

I should add that I could mark tasks as completed in the previous version of iCal

Same thing here w/ my Exchange account. Clicking 'Try Again' alwas works but it's starting to get annoying. Marking iCloud reminders as complete works w/o a problem.

I've narrowed my problem down a little more. Seems that I got the error for two birthday reminders for contacts that were created originally via the Outlook 2010 (on Windows) Linkedin Social Media Connector. This information was sync'd with Exchange and is now sync'd to the Calendar app because it seems to take the birthdays out of any contact records where its populated and make a Calendar entry out of them.

I went and deleted the two birthday reminders that were the subject of the error messages, refreshed the Calendars and now the errors have cleared. It is very strange because many other contacts still have these birthday Calendar entries, however I think it might be becoming an issue only when the birthday reminder is set off.

Not sure that this is the same issue for others but worth a closer look.

Also....

This might be related to another issue I am seeing with using Exchange on the Mac. Contacts in the Address book that have sync'd from Exchange have some fields locked in readonly mode. For example the contact's photo can't be changed in Address Book for an Exchange contact and the birthday date field can't be added to existing Exchange contacts, yet ones that had the date in Exchange already are showing okay.

I have a feeling that when the birthday reminder goes off it tries to update something back in Exchange but due to the readonly mode on some fields it fails to do so.

Just a theory based on what I've observed so far.

Still receiving the "try again" message everytime I clear a reminder in ML.
