Installed update won't clear from App store

My App Store icon keeps showing the red-circled "1" meaning there is an available update. When I open App Store and go to Updates (which also shows the "1") it shows the application (Scrivener), but the update shows as already being installed, which it is. However, the update notification won't clear. Can this be reset somehow?
