The DOWNLOAD in App Store will not download as it states "Mountain lion aready installed" so following your link didn't get me far as installer would not open to give me access to the required files.
And to tell the truth they all seemed a little shady!
My mistake I just didn't look hard enough: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=aeeOrZXowEA This is a very helpful and clear tutorial, but very fast I must have watched sections at least 20 times! or maybe I'm just slow!!!
I got confused with the YouTube explanations. For an easy way to make a bootable copy of ML on an 8 gig flash drive this was easiest for me. I used it this past weekend to refurbish my MBP and it was painlessly simple.

From directions at site: "The best time to use Lion DiskMaker is when you just finish downloading OS X from the Mac App Store. Create your disk with Lion Disk Maker , then install OS X."
It is donationware.
Download it and don't start the installer. Copy the Install Mountain Lion OS X.App file to another place on your drive then nuse this program to make the USB thumb drive.
