Q: Mac pro 2008 wireless
Hi!
Im have a Mac Pro 2008 w/o any wireless card.
For that reason im trying to get this MP connected to internet by using a ethernet cable to my Time Capsule.
The Time Capsule is bridged into my existing wifi network brodcasted by my other Airport Extreme.
The Airport extreme is connected to the wall (ISP).
The problem is that i keep geting a 169.x.x.x adress in my MP.
Why is this not working?
Should it work?
Would it work better with a Airport Express, why? (I saw some posts about that)

... and that would be the issue. Unlike the AirPort Express, neither the TC or AEBS can be used as a wireless Ethernet bridge ... and why your Mac Pro is not getting an IP address via an Ethernet connection to the TC.
To enable the TC's LAN ports for the Mac Pro, you would need to configure both AirPorts for an extended network.
