Can't sign in on iMessage and FaceTime after upgrading to ML

After doing a clean install of ML, I can't login anymore to iMessage and FaceTime. I'm correctly login to iTunes, AppStore and on my iPhone iMessage works good.

The error is "Il server ha rilevato un errore durante l'elaborazione della registrazione. Riprova pi tardi"

or in english

"The server encountered an error processing registration. Please try again later."

The problem is in ML because with Snow Leopard I hadn't a single problems. I'm on iMac 21.5'' late 2009.

Thanks

iMac, OS X Mountain Lion

Hi search-4-help,

The Duplicate (but not logged in Second (or third) iMessages account, can be delete the following way:-

With the Finder as the Front app ( in the Menu bar) go to the Go Menu

Hold down the ALT key to see the Library option

Select the Library and then open Preferences.

Find the file

com.apple.imservice.iMessage.plist

Drag this to the Trash.

Restart Messages.

You may have to re-enter you Apple ID

I don't know if ths will help with Apple accounts that don't use old mac.com email addresses but it fixed my problem:

Go to Messages preferences and click "Accounts" tab

Select the problem account and then, in the "You can be reached for messages at:" box, click the "+" button.

Enter the email account you want to use (doesn't have to be your Apple ID email) and hit "Return".

You should then be asked to enter your Apple ID password to validate the email account.

Messages started working immediately for me after that.

I'm having a similar problem, but have an additional detail, which may help someone else decode what's happening.

I have a late 2011 MBP 8,2 running OSX 10.8.2

I use two different user accounts on this machine. <--- the difference!

One one user account, iMessage authenticates as expected and works fine.

On the other user account, I'm seeing the same message being discussed:

"The server encountered an error processing registration. Please try again later."

What to do, what to do?

HI,

In iTunes (I know, bare with me) go you your Account settings.

Bottom left is a Contact Support option.

This launches a web page.

Again lower Left is a Contact Support.

After that it gives you options of real contact with a real human being.

Ask the iTunes Support to sort your Apple ID.
