Ridding unwanted/unusable fx transitions in FCPX

As a result of my incursion into a "Free Ken Burns Download" on the Net I'm now lumbered with a fair number of plug-ins in my FCPX that I can't use and don't want. How can I get rid of them, please, anyone? And while I'm mentioning the subject, can anyone explain to me how I can get that Ken Burns plug-in without suffering a similar fate as that I've just described? T.I.A.

Thanks for reply, Tom.

It came with an installer which of course I used, Tom, but the company I dealt with (Viideo Blocks) had a cunning way of charging as soon as I clicked on a trial version and I found my bank had been charged £59.00 so I told them I would get the bank to deal with them if the charge wasn't removed. I was then informed that I would be refunded. In my reply I asked for a means of removing the unwanted stuff from my FCPX application but I haven''t heard any more from the firm and I don't note an uninstaller anywhere.

"What Ken Burns plugin? It's built into the app. Does your download have an installer? Does it come with an uninstaller? "

I'm not trying to get rid of any original plugin that came with the FCPX programme; it's the ones I got from the Videok Blocks firm that are messing with me. I had hopled to download that Ken Burns plug-in which allows for motion on still pics within FCPX but instead got a load of ongoing, unwanted ones at an exhorbitant monthly payment.

Go to your user folder, then movies folder, then motion templates folder, then Titles folder, then find the folder for this company and delete. If they are following the conventional way of storing their goods, then you should be set. Delete their files from there and you should be good.

Sincerely,

Bill

Did what you suggested, Bill. Having a further difficulty with that and trashed the whole programme then now in the middle of downloading again. As you know, once paid for, FCPX can be downloaded and I'm hoping it will appear without that unwanted stuff. I noted that it's not just Factory fx items but a considerable amount of others as well.

All I can say is, don't download the stuff from Video Blocks without knowing that it will coast a sizable amount of cash on a monthly basis to run! I'll comment back shortly.

• goto your apps folder

• launch the FxFactory app

• uncheck the boxes of the plugins you don't want/need/use

done.

... in case you're using FxFactory - you haven't told us yet.

A reinstall of FCPX will - as usual - don't solve that problem.

Studying my files in FCPX I have:

FxFactory

Luca Visual fx

Sugar fx

Demo X1 EFFECTS

Nattress

idustrial revolution P

idustrial revolution V

All of these are trial versons (with the usual water marks) which have to be paid for if required. I don't want anything to do with them at this time and they occupy a major part of the effects/transitions list in FCPX interface.

I found that there is no provision to delete any separate ones, so in FxFactory at the moment I'm in the middle of deleting the complete FxFactory programme which is taking quite some time.

I'll come back when that prolonged trashing is finished and comment on the result. Thanks for being involved.
