Moving Menu Bar Icons
With Lion, I could move some of my application menu bar icons around (using Command-click). Not so with Mountain Lion. Bug, or am I doing something wrong?
MacBook, OS X Mountain Lion, Cinema Display, iPad, iPhone 4S

Which applications?

It depends on which icons you're trying to move. Any of Apple's icons can be moved that way, using a command-drag. Any icons added by non-Apple software cannot.
Thanks. I can see that the Apple icons can be moved, but not non-Apple software (one of which is showing up in a weird spot). Now I've accidentally removed the time/day icon ... how do I get that back? My bad, pilot error.
OK, found the spot to add the time back to the menu bar -- System Prefs > Date & Time
.
You can use an app called broomstick to manage the menu bar icons. It is by a young independent developer and has some bugs but is very useful if you get the hang of it. You can download it here: http://www.zibity.com/broomstick.
