Q: Apple Remote Desktop Client , I did not down load this app why I am seeing it updated. Should I be conserned that someone has a remote control to my mac?

While updating my system on my IMac I noticed that Apple Remote Desktop Client is an update for my computer. One problem is I did not download the program for $79.99 app for my system. Is this just part of an OX update?  I am hoping that someone else does not have a remote access to my desk top . I hope this does not sound stupid, but could anyone please explain why this program is updating itself?
