Spinning rainbow wheel, slow....

Hello,

Ive started getting the rainbow loading wheel, I refuse to call it the wheel of death lol. But this started 2-3 weeks ago. My computer Is 500gb hdd, 4gb of RAM, 2.0 ghz dual core i7, late 2011 mbp. I have cs5, illustator, indesign on this with several sub adobe files. But sometimes opening the eaisest of things, I get the wheel, even when oepning the interent at ceratin times. Maybe its because of mountain lion but im not sure. Please let me now if your system has slowed down a little or you have a solution??

But overall it is a fast computer but this wheel just frustrates me.
