What 24 complaints and no replies? *** Apple?? None of us can download your bloody update!!
We are not Apple. We are a bunch of users who help each other out. If you have something to say to apple, click here.
Sorry. Nevertheless, any ideas?
I had the same error when I had the update for iTunes.
Error 3072 means that it is cancelled by the user.
And I did not cancel it myself.
But I have another user on the system that still had iTunes running.
After I quit iTunes in the other user the update went well.
If this does not help maybe try startup in safe mode.
I received the same error message. Based on mhh.assen's response I closed Itunes on another users account and then was able to download the update.
This is the correct procedure. I also had the same case scenario and was able to resolve it the same way.
Killing all open iTunes processes then the install worked for me. I killed the iTunes processes from Activity Monitor. I selected All Processes and noticed my son had an instance of iTunes running. You need to have admin rights to see and kill other user processes.
this totally solved it for me, thanks!
Thanks, this solved it for me.
Thanks, killing all itunes processes really helped!
Kill all the processes which involve iTunes. Also make sure no other user is usin iTunes
The solution is :
- log off all users
- logon with one user
- and run the update
That's all! 🙂
I didn't have to log off, but just kill related software running under the other user
open Activity Monitor
click "stop" button on any iTunes, Xcode processes (use the search in upper right of activity monitor if necessary)
force quit if you have to
you may now install iTunes.
