Can see client but not connect

I just upgraded a client from OS X 10.5.8 to 10.6.8 and now I can see the client but can't observe or control it. Before the upgrade I was able to just fine. Sending commands etc. to the client work just fine. Any ideas?

MacBook Pro with Retina display, Mac OS X (10.7.4)

you might need to upgrade the client's remote desktop client (through software update in the apple menu) or update your version of apple

Thanks for the reply... actually when I upgraded the client to Mountain Lion it cleared things up and I was able to observe and control.
