iPad does not find or print to a Brother 2040 laser printer on an airport base station station

My IMac, a mini, and Mac book pro can all find and print to a Brother 2040 laser printer, but my New IPad doesn't see it nor can it print to it. Any thoughts??? All software latest versions.

iMac, Mac OS X (10.7.3), All software up to date...

That is because your printer is not AirPrint compatible. Look for the application Printopia.

They did offer a solution, there are a number of AirPrint printers:

Including quite a few from Brother. It is a new technology and it places the driver, fonts, etc on the printer, where it belongs, and not on the portable device thus eating up valuable space. A second part of AirPrint was going to work like Printopia, i.e. through the computer, but thanks to patent trolls that had to be pulled just before iOS 5 was released.

Not a miss at all.
