Try to print but always pop up error message "Stopped - 'Filter' failed", has delete and re-install printer, problem persist, please help how to rectify the problem

Hi sbscop, I had same problem. The problem is apple sent out a software update for Epson printers but it has a bug in it. To resolve: Click on "sytem preferences", then click on the "Sharing" icon, then type a name (any name will do) in the "Computer Name:" field. Now try and print. Bet it works. The bug is that it wont print unless you have a name typed in this field.

The reason the problem can be fixed by uninstalling the software drivers and then installing them using the disc, is that the disc does not contain the new bug. Sooner or later they will update to fix the bug. Looks more like later. You would think an email to users would be the decent thing to do. So if you get an auto update again and it does not print again, maybe you will have go delete the name from the field.

I"m having that same problem. "Stopped - Filter Failed". Just got a new IMac and an Epson L850. Installed and reinstalled the driver to no avail. Found your solution and tried it with same results. Any ideas would be greatly appreciated.
