iPhoto cuts me off every time I type a label/keyword/description

Hi

Every time I try to type something in iPhoto, such as a label or keyword or location, after the first few letter or two, iPhoto just cuts me off as if I pressed Return or something. I actually takes a few seconds after I've typed the first letter, whether or not I typed anything afterwards. It doesn't have anything to do with what I press, since I can lift my hands off the keyboard after typing the first letter - and it sort of refreshes after a few secs and cuts my typing off.

Please help. I'm using a brand new Mac

iPhone 4, iOS 5.1.1, Happens to many Outlooks users

Same here - I don't have a solution either. I start typing to rename an event, and after each letter, it is as if someone hits the return key and ends the renaming. I have to enter one letter at a time - very frustrating!!!

I have the same problem. It's very annoying. Does anyone have a solution (or at least a confirmation that it's not just us three who have this)?

For reference, I'm on a 2011 model 13" Airbook (1,7 GHz core i5, 4GB ram), running OSX 10.8.2, and iPhoto '11 (version 9.4.2).

same here, did it on my macbook then just bought a new Imac, transferred the library and still doing it

Same here. I am reduced to typing my Event titles into Text Edit and then copying into the field in iPhoto! A work-around though not very 'Apple' is it?!

As a test launch iPhoto with the Option key held down and create a new, test library. Import some photos and test to see if the same problem persists. Does it?
