Strange message in console after upgrading to ML

Hi!

I recently upgraded my system to ML. The operation went fine and the only issue I had was that VMware fusion stopped working, as it was outdated. Everrithing seems to be working nicely well, indeed much faster than OS X 10.7.4. However I'm getting the following error message in console log and have no idea what the reason could be.

The console log is much larger, this messages will repeat ciclically no matter what applications I'm using, numbers between brackets will vary (I can't see them in activity monitor so I'm not sure if they're PIDs)

Things I've done until now:

- Looked for corrupted preference files

- Repaired permissions and searched for wrong preferences files.

- Cleaned the system from potentially troubling user agents and daemons

- Removing third party apps from launch at login

Any clues?

Thanks.

That's a very reasonable question.

I was looking at the console log because I still have some minor problems (random cursor flickering in message windows in Mail.app and graphical glitches in Safari). I understood these were probably due to system bugs, but at the same time I found the messages I posted about. Given keychains are involved and the system keeps sensitive information there, I decided to write here just to know about the potential gravity of the issue.

Ps. English is not my mother tongue, so please excuse me if you find some spelling or grammar mistakes.

Hello:

Your English is excellent...far better than some who claim it is their mother tongue 😉

My answer was a bit flippant, sorry 😊

I looked at my own logs after reading your last post. I note all sorts of incomprehensible (to me) messages - some indicating errors. I have no clue what the sandbox messages indicate.

The other problems could be caused by a number of things - including hardware problems.

You might try resetting the PRAM and SMC. Those are not cure alls, but they cannot hurt anything either.

Hi Barry,

Thank you very much for your interest. No need to apologize for your question, I'm for "if works, don't touch it".

I tried resetting SMC and PRAM but that didn't solve the issue. I've been googling a bit more and results from similar posts suggest that this could be related to some conflict with preference files, yet this goes beyond my modest computing knowledge. As it seems a misconfiguration rather than a system bug I'll do some more research to find the significance of the issue. By now, it seems that the problem only affects my user account. I'll report any advance I got.

I have been having the same problem. I reset my permissions using disk utility, verified and repaired the drive and even used Yasu, nothing worked. Out of frustration I rebooted in Safe Mode and then rebooted normally, and the messages specific to the keychain were gone.

To reboot into safe mode, shut down the machine, and then press and hold SHIFT at the bong.

I don't know exactly what it does when it's starting up in Safe Mode, but it *did* something.

Hope this helps.

Sigh, false alarm. The messages came back after about 30 mins... fast and furious.

I'm also having a problem with the fan on my Macbook Pro constantly running now, since installing Mountain Lion. I cannot seem to solve these issues, after many hours.

I've reset my keychain using the Keychain Access utility, didn't help.

Thanks for posting.

I tried both things also with the same results. After some more time tracking the logs, I concluded this messages seem not to be affecting the system performance at all, so I can live with them. However, I'm curious about what is triggering them. Is it due to mdworker trying to index keychain?

In my case, fans are working correctly (1999rpm most of the time). I would say these issues are not related.
