Running apps no indicator or not in dock

I'm having the same issue. A reboot will fix it, but then if I put it to sleep and it wakes up, the problem comes back. The only way I can fix it otherwise is to open terminal and type killall Dock.

I have the exact same issue on a MacBook Pro Retina updated to Moutain Lion, after waking up from sleep the dock will never show the new application that I will open or the application that I will close will stay in the dock with the little light underneath.

Only way to fix it for me is to reboot...

Hope that apple will find publish a fix !

What happens if you log into your Guest user and test, or create a new test account?

I'm experiencing the same issue since upgrading to Mountain Lion. It happens in multiple user accounts. Killing the dock in Terminal or Activity Monitor temporarily resolves it but it comes back in 1-2 days.

Yes it's still present and very annoying, I don't know what's causing this but having to restart the dock every two days is a pain is the a** ! hope that apple will fix it !

A problem that is a result of something corrupt in your home folder will likely never get fixed by an update. You shouldn't sit around hoping that will happen.

I've deleted com.apple.dock.plist which worked for a short while but the symptoms soon returned. Reboots make no difference.

Did you also delete com.apple.dock.db? Give that a try.

My mac was brand new (Retina) working perfectly and after updating to 10.8 the issue appeared are you so sure that it's something corrupt in my home folder ?

If so how can I fix it ?

It's not an issue inherent in the OS, so it won't get "fixed." You'll have to troubleshoot to figure out what is wrong with your system to get it fixed.

Same here. This problem exists on all my machines and started with 10.8.

I can't speak for everyone here, but for me the dock issue is not in my home folder. It happens on multiple user accounts including a fresh account. This led me to believe that it's a system issue so hoping for an update from Apple is applicable.

Same for me, when I create a new user to test the issue it appears after the computer wakes up from sleep

In short, I think it's an OS issue.

Then why don't I and many others have it?
