If I change Apple ID what happens

My wife and I both have iPhones; hers is a 4 and mine is a 4s and we both have our own Apple IDs. If we change her ID to match mine

1. What happens to the apps she has purchased under her current ID?

2. Will her screens automatically show just her cuurent aps or will they be cluttered (her words) with my dozens of apps?

1. will be lost

2.will be your apps

3. you will never be able to imessage or facetime eachother and she will get your imessages
