My Iphoto will not let me import pictures?

My Iphoto will not let me import pictures?

Recently my iphoto stopped working and when i opened it the only screen it came up with was the grey back grounds with the loading circle in the middle so we did what it told us to on here to delete it and try re-installing it and we did that however obviously we lost all of out pictures. So we tried importing them again however it goes though all the importing procedures then it comes up with finishing import but doesnt do anything it just stays like this...

and I have to force quit it to close it. I've tried rebuliding the iphoto libary like this...

however it still does not work. I am at a loss at what to do! Someone please help?

A few issues

1. I am not aware of any posted advice for this problem to delete and reinstall anything. The normal advice posted hundreds of times for this problem is to backup your iPhoto library, depress the option and command keys, launch iPhoto and rebuild your library

2. Reinstalling the iPhoto application (if that is what you did) does not affect the library in any way. The application is totally separate from the library

3. What version do you have?

4. Your screen shot shows repairing permissions not rebuilding the library

1. I cant remeber where we found it but all it did was tell us to basically un install it then re install it however that solved the problem of it not opening however it caused this other issue.

2. Yes we re installed it and lost all the pictures from the libary so we tried re adding the pictures but as i said it wouldnt get past the finishing installing

3. We have iphoto 11

4. And i dont no i was just showing you what i have tried incase that helped

There are many versions of iPhoto '11. Again what version of iPhoto do you have? It is a number like 9.2.3

Download iPhoto Library Manager - http://www.fatcatsoftware.com/iplm/ - and use its rebuild command

Open your iPhoto Library package from the Finder like this:

Go to the Auto Import folder and check to see if there are any files in it. If so move them to the Desktop, close the package and launch iPhoto again.

Read Old Toad's post again. You're right clicking on the iPhoto icon on the Dock. He's telling you to right click on the iPhoto Library in your Pictures Folder.
