Compressor Droplets have stopped functioning.

How about Compressor itself…is still functioning?

Any recent systems changes…updates…hardware?

So then it doesn't really sound like it's connected to Compressor or background processing; guessing it more likely to be an OS or AppleScript problem.

This isn't something I've come across before. Maybe someone who's more tech-savvy than I am can chime in with some ideas. If not, perhaps posting in the Systems Software will give you some answers.

Did you install Final Cut Pro X? This moves Compressor and the other Final Cut Studio apps to a different folder, which may break the link.

Thought I'd give this a bump as I have found no way to resolving this issue.

Have you update the compresor

it maybe has been updated to an newer version an drpolet are in the older version of compresor.

No, that's not the issue -- even new Droplets I create from Compressor are saved as Developer Icons and do not function.

send me a droplet and I'll see if there's anything obvious I can see. Zip it before attaching it.

works fine on my system. Have you loaded any OS hacks or "enhancers?"

That's so strange; no hacks, still runnning the latest version of Snow Leopard. When I drag a video file on top of the droplet, nothing happens at all whatsoever.

what does get info say when you select one of the droplets? (select it and hit command-i). Does it say that it's an application (which it should)?. In the get info window, does it's name have the app extension, like it does on my system

Droplets work by symbolically-linking to an app inside the Compressor bundle. If this app moves or for some reason the link is broken, they will not work and will not show an icon.

If you ctrl-click on the droplet and select Show Package Contents you will be able to look inside it. There should be two folders in the root - Contents and Settings. Contents should be a link and you can ctrl-click and select Get Info to view where it is pointing. On my system it points to /Applications/Final Cut Studio/Compressor.app/Droplet.app/Contents.

You may also want to run something like Onyx, as it may help to rebuild launchd caches.
