airplay mirroring with amazon prime?

I was able to stream Amazon videos via my 2012 MacBook Air through my AppleTV using Mountain Lion's mirroring feature. It ws a little choppy - not sure if it's my network or Mountain Lion. Amazon now has an app for the iPad, Amazon Instant Video to stream videos to your iPad. However, Amazon has the mirroring to the AppleTV feature turned off on the iPad.

Definitely choppy using mbpr + latest atv. Only tested with hd tv episodes so far. I assume the same goes for movies.

You stated that amazon prime has air play mirroring turned off for the ipad. Can you state the reason and is there a work-around for this. Any other examples of mirroring on ipad being turned off.

That's Amazons decision not Apple's, I suspect it's because of the license agreement with the studios, yes, many other content providers do the same thing.

Your solution is to purchase and rent from iTunes.

Thats a very costly solution. I wish Apple would finally get a monthly subscription program i.e. Netflix, Hulu and Amazon Prime.

I am streaming from my iPad via HDMI. You can get the necessary cable/adaptors at the Apple store. Works great.

You can now Mirror on iPad via Amazon Video App & it's NOT choppy! Crystal clear. (when I try to do it w/ Chrome browser on my MacBook Pro, it's choppy)
