I have updated my imac to mountain lion it keeps coming up with URL for this type of program not recognised.Can anyone assist.Please

When you boot/login?
When you try to open an application? which application(s)?
When you try to open a document? what kind of document(s)?
Does it happen repeatedly? once? intermittently?
Sorry for delay, it happens when I enter safari also at random times when i login to say itunes and anything else, when i press ok it doesnt cause a problem.
